Books, Music, & DVDs That Showcase the Incredible Literary, Music and Arts Movement of the Jazz Age

The Modern Era, the Jazz Age, the Roaring 20s—call it what you will, the new ideas and social mores of the 1920s produced some of the most remarkable art, music, and literature of the 20th century in Britain as well as in America. Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton, George Gershwin and Cole Porter, all set the rhythm of the decade, while the bohemian Bloomsbury group put forward modernism and free love, and the newly liberated flapper provided the sex appeal to motivate the nascent fashion industry. Also on the page, Dorothy Parker and the writers of the Algonquian group found something witty to say about practically everything, and Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers gave us some of the most memorable sleuths since Sherlock Holmes.
