On February 7, 1964, the Beatles landed at New York, greeted by thousands of screaming fans. Two nights later, 73 million viewers in the United States and millions more in Canada tuned in to watch John, Paul, George, and Ringo make their American debut on the Ed Sullivan Show. The British Invasion had begun. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of that event, Capitol has issued limited edition CD versions of the Beatles’ U.S. albums. Unlike most of the remixed and remastered Beatles music available today, these are faithful duplications of the original 1960s vinyl, which often featured re-arranged track listings and different songs from the British albums, as well as “Americanized” sound mixes, in mono and stereo versions. These “mini LP replicas” are even packaged in scaled-down copies of the original album covers, complete with their paper liner sleeves.
We also have an assortment of additional CDs, DVDs and books focusing on the Fab Four.
