One of Australia's all-time favorite exports, Dame Joan Sutherland is seen in the sublime duet "Dome epais le jasmin" from Lakmé and the group finale of The Merry Widow. This sampler of fully staged excerpts shows off the lavish production values and considerable vocal firepower of Sydney's finest. Also on view are an extended scene from La Bohème in which Musetta sings her aria and re-seduces Marcello; a heart-rending "Vissi d'arte" from Tosca, and scenes from Verdi's Un ballo in maschera, Il Trovatore, and La Traviata.
