A master of the classical guitar, Douglas Niedt performs 16 works on this DVD, including Granada, Carioca, Take Five, and medleys from Gershwin and West Side Story. Niedt began his study of the guitar at age 7 and continued at the Julliard School, the Segovia Master Classes in Spain, and with Christopher Parkening, Jorge Morel, and Oscar Ghiglia. He earned international recognition at age 17 with his first-prize sweep of the inaugural Chet Atkins International Guitar Competition, and at age 21 he made his New York debut in Carnegie Recital Hall.
