In a relaxed setting, the guitarists compare improvisatory styles on a half dozen songs including "I'll Remember April," "Invitation," "Falling Grace," "Stella by Starlight," the Van Heusen/Burke standard "Like Someone in Love," and Wayne Shorter's "Nefertiti." Each year, New York University hosts the three-week Summer Guitar Intensive in New York City. Along with groundbreaking courses and ensembles, students are exposed to the teaching and playing of over 45 internationally renowned guitarists. Hosted by symposium director Bruce Arnold, each DVD in the Master Guitar Symposium series includes excerpts from these clinics, featuring tips, insights, and incredible playing by an all-star lineup of jazz guitarists.
