This 1988 concert film captures the reclusive jazz guitarist in the chamber jazz setting he favored, performing "Body and Soul," "Sophisticated Lady," "Misty," "Just Friends," "Autumn Leaves," and "Billie's Bounce." Farlow became prominent in the early 1950s as a member of vibraphonist Red Norvo's Trio and was known ever after for his blazingly fast bop runs and lush chords. "Farlow wrote the book on modern jazz guitar. His harmonic sense—learned by studying jazz pianists—was brilliant.
