Chopin's Introduction and Polonaise for Cello and Piano in C Major, Op. 3, leads off this rewarding collection, followed by his Sonata for Cello and Piano in G Minor, B 160/Op. 65. The Schumann portion encompasses the Adagio and Allegro for Cello and Piano in A-flat Major, Op. 70; Five Pieces in Folk Style for cello and piano, Op. 102; and a transcription of the Phantasiestücke (3) for clarinet and piano, Op. 73. Now a conductor, Israeili cellist Heled has also recorded the Beethoven cello sonatas and the complete works for cello by Mendelssohn.
