The Coasters were among the forefront of African-American singing groups designated as rock 'n' rollers (as opposed to R&B vocalists). When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted its first members in 1987, the Coasters were front and center. Originally released as The Coasters on Broadway, this collection of tunes recorded from 1966–71 reflects their spectacularly successful collaboration with songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The 12 tracks include "Love Potion Number Nine," "Mustang Sally," "On Broadway," "The In Crowd," "Cool Jerk," "Mohair Sam," "Everybody's Woman," "Soul Pad," "Down Home Girl," and "(Down At) Papa Joe's."
