|
Tilda Swinton delivers a Golden Globe–nominated performance as a mother who will do anything to protect her family in this noirish domestic thriller based on Elisabeth Sanxay Holding's book The Blank Wall. Swinton plays Margaret Hall, a naval officer's wife who disposes of the body of a sleazy club owner whose accidental death followed a confrontation with her closeted gay son (Jonathan Tucker). A blackmail threat by the mysterious Alek Spera (Goran Visnjic) begins a cat-and-mouse game that soon evolves into a haunting romance. Shot around Lake Tahoe, the film earned a cinematography award at Sundance in 2001.
