|
Ben Affleck follows his acclaimed Gone Baby Gone directorial debut by directing, co-writing and starring in this taut 2010 crime thriller filmed on location in gritty Charlestown, Mass. Affleck plays Doug MacRay, a second-generation bank robber and leader of one of Boston's most proficient bank-robbing gangs. But when he falls in love with a bank manager (Rebecca Hall) briefly taken hostage in his last heist, he attempts to get out of town and start a new life. As FBI Agent Frawley (Jon Hamm) closes in and MacRay's crew questions his loyalty, he is faced with two choices: betray his friends or lose the woman he loves. Jeremy Renner received his second Oscar nomination as hot-headed gang member Jem.
