Elizabeth Taylor demonstrates her considerable dramatic range—free spirit, blushing bride, high-end call girl, frustrated Southern belle—in this collection of four peak-career classics. Father of the Bride (1950) earned three Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture and one for costar Spencer Tracy. Taylor received her second Oscar nomination (along with costar Paul Newman) in the 1958 screen adaptation of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize–winning play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She finally got her first Oscar two years later for Butterfield 8. And in 1965, Taylor played opposite husband Richard Burton in The Sandpiper, a film perhaps best known for its Oscar-winning song "The Shadow of Your Smile."
