Description
|

|
Frank Darabont, who made his directorial debut with The Shawshank Redemption, adapts another Stephen King prison drama in this 1999 film, nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture. Tom Hanks stars as Paul Edgecomb, chief prison guard for death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary during the Depression. Michael Clarke Duncan, in an Oscar-nominated performance, costars as John Coffey, a gentle giant of a prisoner with supernatural gifts, who brings a sense of spirit and humanity to his guards and fellow inmates.
