For the fourth film in their Road series, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby play turn-of-the-century vaudevillians who travel to the Klondike in search of gold. After stealing a map from two Alaskan killers, Hope and Crosby assume the bad guys' identities and swagger into Skagway where they meet saloon singer Dorothy Lamour. A series of misadventures ensues as the boys, Lamour, the killers, and other crooked characters try to outwit each other, obtain the map, and find the gold. The snappy original screenplay for this 1946 film earned an Academy Award nomination and includes witty commentary read by an onscreen narrator, the renowned humorist Robert Benchley.
