|
This aggressively unconventional Canadian movie released in 1997 took home Best Film honors at both the Toronto and Vancouver film festivals. Chris Leavins stars as William, a formerly obese, troubled teen who returns ten years later to his small home town to attend his sister Rosemary's (Kerry Fox) wedding. Now a trim, urbane, well-adjusted gay man, he feels ready to face his dysfunctional family. But when the visit conjures up a haunting reality long since buried, William must accept that his appearance has been the least of the changes in his and his family's lives since the day he left, ten years before.
