Description

|
|
Bored with their marriage and looking for adventure, dyspeptic scientist John Lacklan (Keith Carradine) and his elegant wife Helen (Paris Jefferson) hire down-on-his-luck jungle guide Mike Kardec (Billy Zane) to escort them up an uncharted river in Borneo in search of the legendary diamond of a native chieftain named Jeru. But when Helen shows too much interest in Kardec, John fires him. When the pair decides to continue into the jungle on their own, only Kardec can rescue them from certain peril. This 2001 film is based on the Louis L'Amour short story "Off the Mangrove Coast."
