Columbia Pictures' Cover Girl (1944) and You Were Never Lovelier (1942) benefited from original scores by Jerome Kern. Both starred Rita Hayworth, showcasing her with the greatest dancers of the silver screen—Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Although she was an excellent dancer, the gorgeous Hayworth wasn't a singer, so her songs were dubbed by Martha Mears. And what great songs they were, including "Dearly Beloved," "Sure Thing," "I'm Old Fashioned," and "Long Ago (And Far Away)."
