Description

|
|
Soured by civilization, Jeremiah Johnson (Robert Redford) sets out in the mid-1800s to be a mountain man, seeking solitude in a wilderness whose purity he never questions. Starving and nearly frozen during his first winter in the Rockies, he finds refuge with a wily old trapper (Will Geer) whose survival-teaching includes going eyeball to eyeball with a grizzly. Redford and two-time Oscar-winning director Sydney Pollack teamed for the second of their six films together in this 1972 box-office hit featuring unflinching realism and an abundance of breathtaking widescreen scenery, having been filmed entirely in Utah. The DVD contains both widescreen and full screen versions of the film.
