Like the wise men of yore, these three trumpeters come forth blazing with their musical gifts to honor the Christmas season. Songs include "Silent Night," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Ave Maria," "O Holy Night," "The Christmas Song," "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," "What Child Is This?" and "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel." "A classy and utterly listenable and respectful rendition of Christmas carols. The arrangements sparkle, but in fairness, these are more in the nature of jazzy interpretations than jazz music. Hickman and Bacon are classical players by training, although Pilafian has been successful in both classical music and jazz.
