On Christmas night in 1769, a 13-year-old prodigy who went by the name Amadeus performed his first concert in Italy. This gala program celebrates Mozart's friendship with Rovereto's Lodron family in breathtaking renditions of two works he composed expressly for the Countess and her two daughters. In addition to the Concerto in F Major for Three Pianos and Orchestra, K. 242 ("Lodron-Konzert") and the Divertimento No. 10 in F Major, K. 247 ("Erste Lodronische Nachtmusik"), this DVD and bonus CD set presents a performance of Michael Haydn's Symphony No. 28 in C Major—all filmed live at Rovereto's Fausto Melotti Auditorium. "Romanovsky is a fabulous pianist—just complete control and virtuosity, very strong but very musical."— International Herald Tribune
