Bing Crosby's mellow crooning, striking good looks, and easygoing persona made him a Hollywood legend. This boxed collection of five films offers a good cross section of his acting career and many of his best songs. From 1937 come Double or Nothing, based on an early version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Waikiki Wedding, featuring "Blue Hawaii" and the Oscar-winning song "Sweet Leilani." In East Side of Heaven (1939), Der Bingle finds an abandoned baby in his cab. If I Had My Way (1940) finds him the guardian of a 12-year-old girl after one of his buddies is killed. And in Here Come the Waves (1944) he sings the classics "That Old Black Magic" and "Ac-cent-u-ate the Positive."
