Description
|
|
|
|
This day-in-the-life dark comedy, a film festival favorite in 2004, focuses on the residents of a small resort town near Nova Scotia, their respective secrets, and one man's plan to kill himself quietly. At the center of the action is Carol French (Sandra Oh), the local realtor whose controlling behavior is pushing her and those around her to the verge of nervous breakdowns. Her police officer husband Buddy (Paul Gross) is about to begin an affair with the town's prodigal daughter Sandra (Rebecca Jenkins, in a performance that won Best Supporting Actress at the Vancouver Film Festival). Sandra's daughter Emily (Ellen Page) has major issues with her mom's parenting strategies. And Dan Jarvis (Jim Allodi) is having a difficult time killing himself.
