With large, often dramatic color photos, this catalog surveys contemporary art from the newest and northernmost Canadian province of Nunavut ("our land," in Inuktitut). With essays and captions in Inuktitut characters and Latin transliteration, English, and French, it presents such works as Papiarak Tuqiqi's necklace of soapstone and caribou antler; Pitaloosie Saila's 1987 lithograph Sheltered Owl; and Thomas Ugjuk's multifigure soapstone sculpture Congregation. Several of the pieces are also shown in double-page detail views, 19 x 11 inches.
