Description

|
|
Two of Gilberto's late-1970s LPs are combined on this 14-track CD. He brings his lilting, captivating groove to songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim (including "Wave" and "Triste"), other Latin songs ("Bésame Mucho," "Estate"), and American standards ("'S Wonderful," "All of Me"). Gilberto is backed by strings at times and is joined on several tunes by Brazilian vocal legends Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Maria Bethânia. "A magnificent two-fer with some gorgeous orchestrations by Claus Ogerman (on the 'Amoroso' cuts) and Clare Fischer (on the 'Brasil' cuts)."—Canadian Musician
