This ambitious recital opens with "Vissi d'arte" from Tosca, the "Jewel Song" from Faust, "When I am laid in earth" from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, and Mozart's "Porgi Amor" from The Marriage of Figaro, followed by enthralling versions of the popular Puccini arias "Mi chiamino Mimi" and "O mio babbino caro." In addition, Tokody performs the art song "Morgen" by Strauss, several bagatelles by Tosti, and "Vilja-Lied" from Lehár's operetta The Merry Widow.
"Tokody has been Hungary's reigning diva for the better part of two decades…. Her vibrant spinto soprano and bracing dramatic temperament are particularly well suited to … Puccini arias."—Opera News
