Director Martin Scorsese's seventh Academy Award nomination finally netted him his first win for this 2007 Best Picture of the Year. William Monahan's Oscar-winning adaptation of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs spins an intricate cat-and-mouse game between two moles, one (Leonardo DiCaprio) who has infiltrated the operations of Boston mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson), the other (Matt Damon) who is spying on the police for Costello. This acclaimed crime drama won four Academy Awards and scored Mark Wahlberg his first Oscar nomination. This two-disc Special Edition contains nine deleted scenes and commentary by Scorsese as well as featurettes on the Boston mob and the influence of Little Italy on Scorsese's films.
