Based on a short-lived cartoon show from the mid 1960s, SGC2C features former superhero Space Ghost, now retired from the life-saving business and hosting a late-night talk show from outer space under his real name of Tad Ghostal. The show lampoons bad talk shows in much the same way that Mystery Science Theater 3000 poked fun at bad movies. In fact, MST3000 host Joel Hodgson is a guest on one of the 14 episodes contained in this two-disc set. Other guests getting into the spirit of the show's off-the-wall humor include Penn & Teller, Carrot Top, Elvira, Janeane Garofalo, Laurie Anderson, Dave Grohl, Emeril Lagasse, Judy Tenuta, Bobcat Goldthwait, and James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica.
