Starring Lee Marvin as the sergeant, and Mark Hamill and Robert Carradine as members of his squad, the 1980 film was written and directed by Samuel Fuller, who served in the Fighting First. This "reconstructed" version includes more than 40 minutes of new scenes and extended versions of original scenes.
