Vincent Lopez's big band always remained modern and relevant, from the days of ragtime (it made history in 1921 when it was the first to be featured on a remote radio broadcast) through swinging dance bands and the dawn of modern jazz. Heard as they would have been in the heyday of their 20-year engagement at New York's Taft Hotel, the orchestra performs "You Were Meant For Me," "Cha-Cha Medley," "Twixt Twelve and Twenty," "Everytime I Get Some Money," "Star Dust," "Zing! Went The Strings of My Heart," "Mack the Knife," "That's a Plenty," and more.
