Paving the way for later rural TV comedies like The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, The Real McCoys chronicled the daily activities of a happy-go-lucky West Virginia mountain family transplanted to a ranch in California's San Fernando Valley. The extended family, led by three-time Oscar winner Walter Brennan as Grandpa Amos and longtime TV star Richard Crenna as grandson Luke, also included Kathy Nolan as Luke's new bride, Kate, Lydia Reed as Aunt Hassie, and Michael Winkleman as brother Little Luke. This DVD contains three of the best episodes from the show's six-year run from 1957 to 1963.
