Appointed the Principal Dancer of the Opéra National de Paris in 1991, Nicolas Le Riche is celebrated for his archetypal performance of Roland Petit's Le Jeune Homme et la Mort and his interpretations of the works of Mats Ek, yet he has also made his name in film and drama and has even performed Nô theater in Tokyo. This monograph is a stunning visual tribute to the grace and power of Le Riche's dance, the result of five years' observation and camera work by French photographer Anne Deniau. Hundreds of black and white and color images, captioned in English and French, reveal the artist in rehearsal and in his private life; a special section offers some 100 performance photos.
