Culled from such albums as A Book of Books, Camera Obscura, and Abelardo Morell and the Camera Eye, Cuban-born artist Abelardo Morell presents black and white photographs full of wonder and playfulness, inspired in large part by his new view of the world when he first became a father in 1986. Here are images of the New York City skyline, projected upside-down on his apartment walls from life through a pinhole window; a cutout White Rabbit from Alice's Wonderland contemplating the rabbit hole emerging from the center of a huge old dictionary; weathered books like the trunks of old trees; and a stack of blocks with the monumentality a child might perceive in them.
