Description
The term verismo is used loosely to describe opera that portrays "everyday" characters such as Dick Johnson ("Ch'ella mě creda libero") in Puccini's La fanciulla del West or Werther ("Pourquoi me reveiller?") in Massenet's opera of the same name.
