Description
|
|
|
|
Joan Crawford stars as a wealthy French fashionista, engaged to an equally swank industrial designer (Philip Dorn), who appears to be collaborating with the Nazis. But after the Gestapo takes over her mansion in Paris, our now penniless heroine experiences a change of heart and joins the Resistance—just in time to rescue and shelter an American RAF pilot (John Wayne) shot down over France. When she enlists the help of her estranged fiancé to help the pilot escape, she discovers that things are not quite as they seem in this patriotic propaganda film from 1942. Ava Gardner appears briefly as a sales clerk.
