This program of 22 lieder comes mostly from the astonishingly beautiful song cycle Schwanengesang ("Swan Song"), written near the end of the composer's life. (The first seven songs are based on Ludwig Rellstab poems, the next six are by Heinrich Heine, and the final lyric is by Gabriel Seidl.)
