Description
|

|
This gently comic tale of a ménage à quatre from 2001 was honored at numerous film festivals and is based on the true story of a young woman who leaves Brazil's arid and impoverished northeast to seek a man who can fulfill her desires. She soon returns with a child and no husband but accepts the marriage proposal from former neighbor Osias, who provides her a house and security in place of romance. From Osias's cousin Zozhino she finds love and respect; and from handsome drifter Cino she discovers passion. One woman, four sons, three fathers—all under one roof. No one said love was simple.
