The Tender Trap (1965) engagingly pairs Sinatra with Debbie Reynolds in a Neil Simon–like romantic comedy, with an Oscar-nominated title song from Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn. Nominated for three Academy Awards in 1956, Otto Preminger's The Man With the Golden Arm features an acclaimed Oscar-nominated performance by Sinatra as a drug-addicted musician. Vincente Minnelli directs Sinatra as a troubled WWII veteran in Some Came Running (1958), essentially a sequel to From Here to Eternity that garnered five Oscar nods. Sinatra made his directorial debut in the 1965 Pacific war film None But the Brave. And in Marriage on the Rocks (1965), he teams up with Dean Martin and daughter Nancy.
