The first sequel to Dirty Harry, this 1973 follow-up was scripted by future heavyweights Michael Cimino (The Deer Hunter) and John Milius (Apocalypse Now). This time, a reinstated Detective Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) battles a crew of sharpshooting rookie motorcycle cops who have turned vigilante, rubbing out crooks the court can't touch. Two of the right-wing avengers (David Soul and Robert Urich) were also making their film debuts; the third, Tim Matheson, would achieve stardom five years later in Animal House.
