|
|
George Clooney directs himself, Renée Zellweger, and John Krasinski in this 2008 screwball comedy tribute to the early days of professional football. "Dodge" Connelly (Clooney), owner and member of the Duluth Bulldogs, attempts to revive his bankrupt football franchise—and popularize the sport—by recruiting recent war hero and college football star Carter "The Bullet" Rutherford (Krasinski). But when feisty reporter Lexie Littleton (Zellweger) begins scrutinizing Rutherford's war record, she turns the two teammates into instant rivals who will settle their differences on the gridiron.
