Charmingly subversive, this little board book is ostensibly for prereaders; each page features a one-word text and a realistic line drawing with flat areas of color. But a second glance reveals that "home" is partly made of abandoned automobiles, while "bike" is actually a small boat that re-uses a bicycle attached to a paddle wheel for power, since a fast road bike would be of little use in a peaceful future without pavement. Creators T & T (Tyler Brett and Tony Romano) have been working collaboratively for over a decade, producing their own playful vision of a postapocalyptic world.
