Description

|
|
Italy's "King of the Bizarre," filmmaker Marco Ferreri, won the Grand Prize of the Jury at Cannes in 1978 for his first English-language film. Gérard Depardieu (Lafayette) and Marcello Mastroianni (Luigi) star as two foreign eccentrics living in a surreal, rat-infested New York City. While walking along the Hudson River one day, Luigi discovers the corpse of King Kong as well as a newborn monkey. He brings the monkey home and gives it to his friend Lafayette, a stagehand for a feminist performance art troupe, who agrees to raise the infant primate as his own.
