A pioneering Austrian exponent of contemporary art jewelry, Helfried Kodré learned goldsmithing in the 1960s while studying art history. In the mid-70s Kodré abandoned goldsmithing, then re-emerged in the early 1990s as a jewelry artist, eschewing his earlier bent for natural symbolism and organic allusions in favor of geometric articulation—the play of volumes and their relationships in a rhythm of expansion, opening, and overlapping. In German and English, with 167 color photos and drawings, this book looks at Kodré's newer period, describing jewelry pieces and freestanding sculpture.
