We're Krazy for Karrin here at Daedalus. Besides appreciating Allyson's lovely, distinctive voice, we're always keen to hear what this creative, constantly seeking musician does next. Here she's teamed with lyricist Chris Caswell to put words to melodies from classic instrumentals of the 1950s and 60s by Dizzy Gillespie ("Con Alma"), Nat Adderley ("Never Say Yes"), John Coltrane ("Lazy Bird"), Wayne Shorter ("Footprints"), and others. She duets with vocalese legend Jon Hendricks on the delightful "Strollin'," trades riffs with Nancy King on "All You Need to Say," and joins both for an exhilarating trio finale ("Everybody's Boppin'"). "The title track with its languid melody and now bittersweet refrain ('Follow the footprints we left and I'll find you there') reveals the singer's soulful way with a ballad, quiet and haunting."—Washington Post "A solid effort—refined and smartly executed. Allyson has a laid-back, straight-no-chaser style that, at times, recalls Carmen McRae sans the vinegar. Fluid, graceful, spring breeze-light, her voice has a bit of dusk in it, an appealing rasp."—Baltimore Sun
