Gorgeously reproduced in full-page color and black and white plates up to 9 1/2 x 14 inches, the 100 posters here represent some of the best examples available from one of the finest French poster artists of the 1920s and 30s. They are presented by Jack Rennert, editor of the Poster Art Library and a world-renowned authority on the art of the poster. Among the images here are the first depiction of Josephine Baker in a poster for the Revue Nègre, and a poster that is almost a portrait of the singer Diana, whom Paul Colin acknowledged had no great talent, but to him "she was very, very beautiful. She was worth a poster."
