Harold Lloyd, along with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, was one of the three great comedians of the silent film era, and his films earned more than Chaplin's and Keaton's combined. In the late 1940s, after his film career, he discovered the Stereo Realist camera, which took two pictures at once to create a vividly colored, three-dimensional image. Lloyd was hooked, and over the next two decades produced some 300,000 photographs, many of them nudes of young women. In the 200 photos here, presented by Lloyd's granddaughter Susan with her commentary, it becomes clear that Lloyd approached his photos like his films—each image told a story. Some are kitschy, some are simply gorgeous, but all of them reflect Lloyd's innate sense of joy and his heartfelt appreciation for anything of beauty. The book includes a pair of 3-D viewing glasses.

"Lloyd's subject was primarily the female nude, and his thousands of smiling, fulsome ladies are just that—nude rather than naked.... They are lush and glorious and never lewd or lascivious.... In their gorgeous Technicolor, they are the damsels on the calendars that decorated bars and garages, decades back."—Vanity Fair
