Description
Newly illustrated with period art and photos, this book is a fine reproduction of a 1912 text published just months after the Titanic sank in the North Atlantic. The colorful prose of Marshall Everett ("the great descriptive writer," as he is identified) offers us "a graphic and thrilling account of the sinking of the greatest palace ever built, carrying down to watery graves more than 1500 souls, giving exciting escapes from death and acts of heroism not equaled in ancient or modern times, told by the survivors," according to the title page. Everett also includes a "history of icebergs, the terror of the seas, wireless telegraphy, and modern shipbuilding." The replica includes a foil-stamped laminated cover, marbled endpapers, and gold page edges.
