Description
Representing some of the finest in Americana music, Steve Earle's three studio albums with Warner Bros. were all recorded after his return from jail and rehab. Train a Comin' featured "Goodbye" and "Angel Is the Devil," along with the acoustic classics "Tom Ames' Prayer" and "Ben McCulloch," performed with legends Norman Blake, Roy Huskey, and Peter Rowan. The rootsy rockers of I Feel Alright included "Hard-Core Troubadour," "Billy and Bonnie," and "South Nashville Blues," while El Corazón blended country, Celtic folk, and rock in a brilliant mix that included "Christmas in Washington," "Taneytown" (with Emmylou Harris), "I Still Carry You Around" with the Del McCoury Band, "N.Y.C." with the Supersuckers, and the country ballad "Ft. Worth Blues." The fourth CD is a Nashville concert from 1995 with Bill Monroe and Harris, and the DVD shows a 1996 gig filmed at the Cold Creek Correctional Facility.

"Songs this diverse and meaningful will never make it on today's rock or country radio…. One of American music's true originals, playing at the top of his game."—Boston Globe
