Description
Well into his seventh decade, this blues legend is taking a cadre of younger artists along for the ride of their life in this all-new, 21-track, two-disc set, a fitting follow-up to his Grammy-winning Living Proof of 2010. Called "Rhythm," the first disc includes Junior Wells' 1960 hit "Messin' With the Kid" (featuring Kid Rock), the touching "One Day Away" with Keith Urban, and "What You're Gonna Do About Me," a rousing duet with Beth Hart. Guy rounds out the disc with "Best in Town," "Whiskey Ghost," Guitar Slim's "Well I Done Got Over It," and more. Disc Two gets down with some blues—"Meet Me in Chicago," "I Could Die Happy," "Never Gonna Change," and "All That Makes Me Happy Is the Blues." Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Brad Whitford contribute to "Evil Twin" while Gary Clark Jr. joins Guy on "Blues Don't Care." Other tunes include "Poison Ivy," "My Mama Loved Me," "What's Up With That Woman?" "Justifyin'," and "The Devil's Daughter."

"Perhaps the greatest showman to ever play blues guitar, Buddy Guy was a crucial link between blues and rock 'n' roll…. Guitarists Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix cited him as a prime influence, and Eric Clapton stated in Musician Magazine in 1986 that Buddy Guy 'is by far and without a doubt the best guitar player alive.'… Before Guy came to Chicago, blues was played sitting down."—St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture
