Description
One of the great comic book artists, inducted into the Harvey Awards Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1998, Joe Kubert's career spanned nine decades, from 1938 when he became a professional at age 12, to his death in 2012, still producing work for DC Comics. Kubert is known and respected as much for his sinewy, passionate drawing as he is for his consummate storytelling skills, seen in contributions to such pop culture icons as Hawkman, Tarzan, and Sgt. Rock and in his historical graphic novels like the Eisner Award winner Fax from Sarajevo and Yossel: April 19, 1943. The book includes a 50-page section of comic book stories in the horror, crime, and science fiction genres from the pre-Comics Code era, reprinted in full color here for the first time.

"Fan/historian Bill Schelly ... knows his stuff and it shows. This is the definitive biography of Joe Kubert, and I would say it is lavishly illustrated but the word 'lavishly' pales in comparison by even a quick flip-through of this 232-page tome. Pure and simple, this is the tribute that Joe deserves."ComicMix
