(2013 Grammy Winner for Best Folk Album) Yo-Yo Ma seems to draw spiritual sustenance as well as musical riches from his many genre-blurring collaborations. In his latest CD, the 14-time Grammy winner has garnered three modern masters of stringed instruments as colleagues in boundless invention: Chris Thile, mandolinist and founding member of the progressive acoustic trio Nickel Creek; Stuart Duncan, five-time Academy of Country Music Fiddler of the Year; and frequent Ma collaborator and Grammy winner Edgar Meyer on bass. They come together on this groundbreaking project as a unified ensemble and are joined on two tracks ("Here and Heaven"; "No One But You") by guest vocalist Aoife O'Donovan. The album's title derives from a term frequently used by aviators, and others in high-risk pursuits, to describe a chaotic situation where dozens of things must go right for everyone to walk away safely.
