In April 1942, American aviation legend Jimmy Doolittle returned to active duty, and at the age of 46, led a squadron of 16 B-25s—launched from an aircraft carrier—on a daring bombing raid over military and industrial targets in the Japanese homeland. By demonstrating that Japan itself was vulnerable to American air attack, it provided a vital morale boost and opportunity for U.S. retaliation after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, just four months earlier. This four-part documentary recounts Doolittle's raid through historical footage, expert commentary, and interviews with four of the crewmen who participated. A 16-page viewer's guide provides maps, timelines, and an interview with Doolittle biographer Carroll V. Glines.
